Do you ever wake up and just can't be bothered trying to put together an entire outfit? Today was one of those days for The Bearded Lady, so I went with a dress that I bought in London at Zara last Christmas. An animal print has so much going on there isn't much more you need to do, especially with a feature such as one-shoulder. I paired this dress with my favourite knee-high boots for an instant chic look.

La Dolce Vita
Florals seem to be a print that continue to make a comeback, much to my adoration. I absolutely love floral prints, they're so feminine and flattering and any girl can (and SHOULD) wear florals. The new Dolce & Gabbana Spring 2012 collection is nothing short of inspiring. Reminiscent of an Italian summer back in the 1950s, the back-to-basics silhouettes mixed with beautiful and bright floral prints are going to be the perfect outfit for a picnic this summer. You can almost picture the days when housewives would visit the markets in old Italy in these 50s inspired garments.
My personal favourites are the midriff bustier tops, perfect to pair with a high waisted pair of denim shorts. Amaze.
Stripe That Smile Off Your Face
I've always had a bit of a crush on stripes. They always seem to be one of those things that come back in style every few years, lucky for me. On the right piece of clothing stripes can be really flattering and I have always believed that stripes work best on loose fitting garments, as they don't draw attention to any unwanted curves we all may have and don't optically trick people into thinking we are bigger than we really are.
Here I am wearing a top that was originally long sleeved, tucked into vintage Levi black denim jeans cut into shorts, with a tan high waisted belt, red hat (for the bad hair day) and white cutout lace up boots.
Stripes work best when they're the feature of an outfit, so don't go too crazy with accessories and other crazy patterns, because more often than not it won't work. Keep it simple with stripes and the look will work for itself.
White Spring Sunday
The weather was perfect in Sydney today. The Bearded Lady had loads of fun frolicking in a lovely secluded part of Sydney's Centennial Park. I donned an outfit I felt was fitting for Spring weather: white, white, white. All-white outfits are just as lovely for Spring as they are for Summer. They're breezy, super chic and girly.
My rules for all-white outfits is to mix textures like a long maxi dress with cotton shirt or fur jacket. Also, don't overdo the look with too many accessories, it's about minimalism.
I'd normally be a little more risque and wear this floaty dress with nude undies underneath, however the weather was a little cooler in the afternoon so I pulled a Lohan and put on some leggings underneath. The dress is a gorgeous vintage 70s white/cream number; sheer skirt and the bodice is a lace teardrop pattern. Divine. I feel I'm channeling Abbey Lee today.
This dress will be available at The Bearded Lady online store, coming soon.

Shoe-Inspiration
Spring time in Australia is pretty darn exciting... It means we can pack away all our darks and embrace colourful heels, shorts, mini skirts and cute dresses. I know that one of the first things I start dreaming about are the shoes that will see me through our Aussie summer.
Here are a few new styles I've got on my radar for summer. All of these styles are available at solestruck.com

Plomo 'Mercedes' Cork Print Wedges |
I'm not usually a cork advocate but these are divine.

Haus of Price 'Mega Bootie 2' in Multi |
While these may not be so practical, they are definitely show stoppers. A floaty white dress teamed with these would be an angelic combination for summer.

Noticing a theme here? Wedges are definitely still the perfect addition to your summer footwear collection. These babies come in four different colours and scream fun.
